Ololo Safaris Foundation - Supporting Local Communities

The Ololo Foundation

Ololo Safaris is so much more than just a safari company. Since the beginning we've had the vision of creating a community that is dedicated to uplifting the environment and local families of this region that we love. To achieve this, Ololo Safaris directly contributes 5% of profits from each trip to support the projects under The Ololo Foundation - ensuring the positive impacts of your travel are maximised where it's needed most. Whether it be planting trees and establsihing school gardens, or supporting our partner schools to provide opportunities for improved access to quality education, we'd love your support!

Visit our projects

For those who are interested in visiting our projects, we'd love to take you up to our local Oloosirkon School, where most of our work takes place. You'll be driven up in our rusty pickup-truck (the roads are  bumpy), and have the chance to see our work, as well as plant a tree in the school's shamba (farm) as part of our 'Trees for Life' project. Depending on the time of day, you might catch the students in class, or even partake in our afternoon sports programs. If interested, please let us know in advance so we can see if a visit is possible. To visit the project, we just ask for a donation of your choice, that will go towards assisting our work! This donation can be made here. Asante Sana!

Trees for Life Project - Oloosirkon School

Project Overview

Project Established:  2022.

We live in one of the most naturally biodiverse ecosystems in the world. With hundreds of species of mammals and over 450 bird species in our area alone, trees play a vital role in bringing together this ecosystem. By pledging to plant ‘1 tree per guest’ at our partner schools, not only do we aim to sequester the carbon produced by your travels, but we also hope to teach the youth about the importance of protecting our precious environment. We invite you to visit Oloosirkon School and to plant a tree in the school's Shamba (farm). Other projects at the school include the refurbishment of new classrooms, construction of a kitchen and borehole in order to supply water to the project.
