Enjoy our favourite destinations and experiences with this 17 day Kenyan adventure. From the plains of the Masai Mara to the foothills of Mt Kenya, you'll enjoy breathtaking sceneries, beautiful cultures and unparalleled wildlife.
This safari is perfect for families, couples and group travel, and can be adapted and personalised to what you're looking for in your ideal African safari.
Day 4 - 5 - 6 | Masai Mara
Today you'll catch a short flight to the Masai Mara conservancy, arguably the most rich and naturally biodiverse national park in the world. You'll be picked up from the bush airstrip by our friends from the safari camp, who will be looking after you for the next few days. You'll enjoy the sheer serenity and exclusivity that the Mara offers as your explore the reserve and its natural wonders.
Some of the highlights include:
- Guided morning and evening game drives
- Walking safaris
- Local Masai cultural visits
Day 10 - 11 - 12 | Ol Malo (Samburuland)
Take your Kenya expedition one step further with an unforgettable Ol Malo Nomad trek to explore painted valleys, deserts and mountains. Accessing areas by helicopter, a team of camels, sure-footed horses, and Samburu guides with the knowledge of ancient tribes – we invite you to experience some of Kenya’s most untouched wilderness and smile with the wildest of faces. Life at Ol Malo is about experiences.
Day 16 - 17 | Ololo Lodge
Head back to our homely Ololo Safari Lodge for a well-earned break as you let the experience sink in. Leave in plenty of time for a leisurely game drive, and catch at least one more spectacular sighting before boarding the plane back home.
Day 1 - 2 - 3 | Nairobi National Park | Ololo Safari Lodge
Welcome to Kenya! You’ll be met at the airport by one of our friendly safari guides, who will bring you to our family lodge through Nairobi National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for animals along the way!
Upon arriving at Ololo you’ll cross the Mbgathi river via our suspension bridge, then meet our amazing team (who’ll feel like family at the end of your trip). You’ll also meet the owners of Ololo, Craig Chapman (you might find him attending to the farm – where most of the food is grown) or Joanna Chapman (you might find her in the kitchen preparing your next meal, or in the workshop designing our handmade furniture).
After settling in there is lots to see and do in the next couple of days. Some of the highlights include:
- Morning and evening game drives
- Organic Farm Tour
- Visit the Baby Elephant Orphanage
- Handfeed a giraffe
- Local community impact projects
Day 7 - 8 - 9 | Mount Kenya
After one night back at Ololo Safari Lodge, you will head upcountry to stay at Olepangi Farm, set on the foothills of Mt. Kenya. With Lolldaigas, Ol Pejeta, Ngare Ndare and Samburu close by, you are ideally located to explore the riches of Laikipia bushland, forests, and bustling markets. Setting off in the morning and returning for a Sundowner and to watch the sunset from the garden.
Some of the highlights include:
- Hike mount Kenya
- Visit Ngare Ndare forest
- 4 x 4 safaris
- Horseback safaris
- Samburu National Park
Day 13 - 14 - 15 | Lamu Island
Spend the remaining days of your holiday relaxing at Forodhani House, absorbing the rich Swahili culture of Lamu Island - a UNESCO world heritage site on the coast of Kenya. Sail around the beautiful archipelago of islands exploring the sandy beaches or Takwa ruins. There are no paved roads on Lamu Island, and donkey carts still ply it's sandy alleyways as they have been for hundreds of years. Consequently, being in Lamu can feel like stepping back in time.
Some of the highlights include:
- Cultural tour of Lamu town
- Day of snorkelling, fishing and swimming on a traditional dhow boat
